Kingston College was founded in April 1925 by the Anglican Diocese of Jamaica with the sole purpose of providing a solid educational platform for the most materially disadvantaged boys from Kingston and surrounding parishes (St Andrew, St Thomas and St Catherine.) The vison of Reverends Gibson, DeCarteret, Hardie and Nuttall was to develop a culture whereby a firm moral grounding would facilitate a culture of fellowship and industry that would be driven and dictated by the anthemic motto which has become stem-winding, invigorating and life-defining ever since: ‘Fortis Cadere Cedere, Non Potest’ – The Brave May Fall, But Never Yield’.
